Monthly Doctor's Visit

Today I went in for my monthly Doctor's visit, and everything checked out great! The baby had a nice strong heartbeat and she even gave the doc a few kicks! I am 23 weeks today...but my stomach measured 26! I can't wait until my ultrasound next month so we can see just how big this little lady is! Oh, and p.s.....I didn't gain near as much weight as I had expected, which makes me a very happy mommy-to-be!

The Baby Bedding

Here are some of the pics off of the Pottery Barn website of the bedding we purchased. I ended up going with the hot pink and white gingham sheet and a different crib skirt that I thought coordinated better with the bedding. I just think this bedding is so cute and can't wait to see it all set up!

A Day of Registering

Today mom and I went to Louisville to register at Babies R Us and Target. I would have never thought it would have taken a full day just to get registered at both stores...of course that does includes the pit stop we made at Pottery Barn Kids to get the bedding, which by the way I absolutely LOVE! It was a good thing Eddie opted out on this trip because I have the feeling he would have lost patience after the first hour or so... and since he got a little" scan happy" while doing our wedding registry, I didn't mind! Although I've been to Babies R Us on numerous occasions in the past, I've never had to look at items in each and every section of the store...and then pick the very best things for our girl! I did try to go gender neutral on most of the big items in case there is a little boy in our future! Even if it did take us practically the full day we had lots of fun and it feels good to have that part out of the way!

Labor Day Weekend

This sure was a busy Labor Day weekend! Friday we celebrated Eddie and his sister Stephanie's birthdays at his parents house...Steph's b-day is August 29th and Eddie's follows behind on September 1st.

Saturday, I headed to Lexington for a bridal shower for my friend Katie at Talon Winery. It was great getting a chance to visit with friends I don't see very often, and was also perfect timing to let everyone in on our news of having a girl! We had such a good time and I suffered from a sore belly the rest of the weekend from laughing so hard...I must have pulled a muscle!

Sunday, I slaved all day on a birthday cake for Eddie...which unfortunately turned out to be a huge flop! I should have known better than using a new recipe! The rest of the meal did turn out great, and Eddie's B-day with the Caldwell's was very enjoyable!

Monday, the Fowler family headed to Shakertown for lunch to celebrate my grandfather's (Daddy Joe) 80th birthday. It was good getting everyone together to catch up and to wish Daddy Joe a happy birthday!
